ABOUT

The ABS Law team is led by Attorney Annika Bockius-Suwyn, with assistance from some fantastic support staff.​

 

A steadfast advocate for LGBTQ families, Annika served 3 years as co-chair of the board of the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association and is going on 4 years on the governing board of GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD Law), a nonprofit law firm devoted to advocating for and defending members of the LGBTQ community.

 

Annika served two terms as a Law Clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court, where she researched complex legal issues and drafted judgments and findings in some of the busiest counties in the Commonwealth.

 

Following her clerkship, she worked as an associate at Wilson Marino & Bonnevie, PC, in Newton, assisting with residential real estate closings, domestic relations litigation, and adoption, before going on the spend nearly 8 years at DangerLaw, LLC, also in Newton, focusing on estate planning and estate administration.

 

Annika studied law at Boston University, focusing on diverse areas of family law, including assisted reproductive technology (ART), mediation, and the evolving rights of LGBTQ families. While in law school, Annika worked as a Rule 3:03 Student Attorney at BU’s Civil Litigation Clinic and was a founding member of the BU Family Law Association.

When not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her wife, daughter, and their small dogs, usually while watching the Philadelphia Eagles or the Boston Red Sox. Annika is also conversational in Spanish and happy to assist clients in that language.
